Pro-Lifers Inadvertently Support Abortion Clinic

Pro-life protesters at the Planned Parenthood in Reading, PA are inadvertently supporting their mortal enemy through a brilliant plan known as “Pledge-A-Picket.”

The Picketers’ Present
Tis the season for giving!

Through the campaign tactic, private donors make a contribution to the organization for each day a pro-life supporter shows up on the doorsteps. The more days the demonstrators appear, the richer Planned Parenthood gets. So far they have raised around $1200 and are on pace to earn a lot more through this fast and efficient means of reverse protesting the protesters.

“We just believe that women have a right to health care without violence or harassment, and our staff and patients see that on a weekly basis,” said Kim Custer, CEO of Planned Parenthood’s Northeast Pennsylvania chapter. Custer stated that more than 30 participants have signed up to be donors in two weeks.

Pro-lifers hard at work.
Well no one ever said they were smart protesters.

The Reading clinic is the only one in Northeastern PA that perform abortions so they see a lot more protests than other clinics in the area. It is not uncommon to see up to 50 activists a day standing outside the office waving around signs and explicit images in front of patrons and innocent passersby.

Graphic signage olé!
Wow, what a bad Photoshop job.

“With the pretty gruesome pictures they put out–nobody wants to look at those pictures and then come in and eat,” explained business owner Ray Hildenbrand owner of Kenny’s Luncheonette down the street.

Pro-life organizations have denounced the fundraising tactic saying that it’s only making a mockery out of what’s otherwise a very serious topic.

A grim reaper rally.
A grim reaper rally in D.C.

“What Planned Parenthood is doing is reprehensible on several levels,” said Wendy Wright, president of Concerned Women for America (a Washington lobby that seeks to bring Biblical principles to public policy issues). “This is an odd twist on an old heresy.”

The heresy that she’s referring to (known as simony) is when an individual seeks profit from others’ prayers. In this instance, those prayers are the ones of the pro-life protesters. “In this case, they are employing a tactic that has been denounced since the Middle Ages,” Wright said. “This exposes how greedy they are.”

But Custer begs to differ. “Planned Parenthood is very serious about protecting and promoting women’s health,” she said. “The campaign is a successful way to engage supporters in helping us do that. We take this seriously and we found a way to have our supporters take it seriously. There is no joke in this campaign.”

But I suppose that if there is any humor to be found in this, it looks as if that joke is entirely on the pro-lifers. Welcome to the new millennium Mr. Wade.

Abortion protest humor.

A woman should not have to be forced to do something she doesn’t want to do because someone else has a different opinion. 77% of abortion leaders are men and 100% will never be pregnant. They will never know what it is like to be harassed for an already hard decision. Let women make their own choice.

  4. Ethan Says:

Laura said “Let women make their own choice.” Did you ever think about the babies choice? Didn’t think so.

  5. Prolifer Says:

The catholic church’s belief is that all human life is sacred, no matter what some politicians may say in order to get more votes.

  6. Rebecca Says:

An expectant mother should feel no differently about getting an abortion than killing her baby the day after it is born. I say this because there is no difference. Both are a baby. The word fetus is just more conveniant to use. (Just like McDonalds is more conveniant) America has a real problem with just going with what is conveniant.

  7. An unborn BABY Says:

“Let women make their own choice” -Shut your mouth and Consider this:
The United States Supreme Court does not deem it a womans choice to murder her already born baby. Why should it be a woman’s choice to murder her unborn baby?

  8. ♥♥♥ProLifer♥♥♥ Says:

Wow, you guys sound so smart. :)
It’s very “conveniant.” And I think I’ll Capitalize this word, because I care about the “babies choice.”
    ♥♥♥Yay, hearts.♥♥♥

  9. john Says:

Everyone should have a right to murder! If I want to kill that is my choice! Babies can’t speak for themselves so they have no rights!

  10. Steve-a-rino Says:

I think a woman has the right to kill all you whiny bitchin’ complainers. R-E-L-A-X you people and stop blowing up clinics.

HEY LAURA – you said – “A woman should not have to be forced to do something she doesn’t want to do because someone else has a different opinion. 77% of abortion leaders are men and 100% will never be pregnant. They will never know what it is like to be harassed for an already hard decision. Let women make their own choice.”

First of all – do you really think that the fact that the majority of abortion leaders are men has anything at all to do with them trying to impose their own (apparently) “ignorant’ will upon women?? Do you really think that the fact that we have different plumbing than you do, means that we are in any less of a position to talk about whether an unborn child has a right to live?????

You speak as if we should feel sorry for the woman that makes the decision to have an abortion. So when, then, do you believe life starts? Is it at birth? Because common sense could tell anybody that a child that is born, but was not even twenty minutes before, is still the same child. It’s not like life begins magically when the child goes through the birth canal. So when does it start?

  12. Kathy Says:

your mother never thought like you or you would not be hAbortion kills a beating heart! To all you pro-abortion believers – be glad ere today!

  13. mandy Says:

the beat of the heart does not start until 8 weeks.
the brain waves do not begin until 8 weeks.
and the baby can not feel until atleast 8 weeks.
having an abortion can mean saving the mother’s life,
whether that be: physically or mentally, meaning schooling wise.
it is sad to see women and girls drop out from school because they are pregant.
that woman is already living and breathing.
it is wrong to harrass those who already have a hard enough decision having abortion.
    why make it harder?
    that is not fair.
    pro-choice,
    for every woman.

  14. Babys are people - would you murder people? Says:

They do hav a rite to life.
People are valueing life less and less as time goes on.
“Everyone should hav a rite to murder”
    What a load of Bullcrap!

  15. princella Says:

LONG LIVE BABIES my prayers to all women who r having tough times making a decision :) <3

I have found that when I say, “Can I touch your belly then?” people say sure! So I have just become really mean about it. When a hand comes near my belly, I grab it and move it away. I also don’t understand when people ASK if they can touch my belly and I say “no”, why would they ask me why and get upset? If you really wanted to touch my belly, why didn’t you just go after it instead of asking a yes or no question where you have a 50/50 shot of getting an answer of “no”!
